Title

Analysis
This ordinance establishes a footnote that will allow for an employee in a position requiring a commercial driver's license who temporarily loses his or her commercial driver's license due to a non-commercial motor vehicle conviction or an off-duty commercial vehicle conviction to have his or her pay reduced by 4% for the duration of the suspension.  The footnote is intended to be implemented with positions in the Department of Public Works.

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following department:

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Part II, Section 5-F (page 90) of ordinance File Number 130419 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby created to read:
 
Part II.  Administration.
Section 5.  Salary Adjustments.
F.  An employee in a position requiring a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) who temporarily loses his or her CDL due to a non-commercial motor vehicle conviction or an off-duty commercial vehicle conviction shall have his or her pay reduced by 4% for the duration of the CDL suspension beginning on the day the CDL is officially suspended.
