Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Office of Environmental Sustainability to accept and expend contributions received for energy efficiency or renewable energy projects, using rebates received from the Focus on Energy program or utility rebate programs.
BODY:
Whereas, The Office of Environmental Sustainability receives rebates from the Focus on Energy program for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects; and

Whereas, The City has developed energy efficiency and renewable energy goals in the Refresh Milwaukee Sustainability Plan, approved by Common Council Resolution File Number 131035, adopted on December 17, 2013; and

Whereas, The City will continue to implement energy-efficiency projects and renewable-energy projects to meet the established goals and achieve ongoing cost savings in City operations; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of Environmental Sustainability is authorized to accept up to $200,000 in contributions for energy-efficiency and renewable-energy equipment, and to expend these funds for the purpose of implementing energy-efficiency or renewable-energy projects in municipal operations, in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the Office of Environmental Sustainability’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Contribution, 0...
