Body
Whereas, The Harley-Davidson Targeted Investment Neighborhood (“TIN”) is bounded by W. Vliet Street, W. McKinley Avenue, N. 36th Street and N. 40th Street; and

Whereas, Since 2004, the Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation (“NIDC”) has been offering housing rehabilitation and rental rehabilitation programs in the Harley-Davidson TIN and has constructed 3 new homes and remodeled one other home in the TIN; and

Whereas, In 2006, the Harley-Davidson Foundation awarded NIDC a grant of $160,000 to supplement government-funded loans for rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes in the Harley-Davidson TIN; and

Whereas, The grant from the Harley-Davidson Foundation was used to provide 16 $10,000 5-year forgivable loans for exterior rehabilitation of owner-occupied properties; and

Whereas, In 2006 and 2007, NIDC received grants from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to fund small block improvement projects within the City’s TINs; and

Whereas, A portion of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation grant money was used for two Harley-Davidson TIN projects that made physical improvements to the neighborhood and increased resident communication and collaboration; and

Whereas, In 2008, NIDC received a $10,000 grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to fund the transplanting of approximately 20 trees from a nursery in Germantown to the unnamed, City-owned and maintained play area at 3700-3702 W. McKinley Avenue in the Harley-Davidson TIN; and

Whereas, In recognition of the financial support from the Harley-Davidson Foundation and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for revitalization and improvement of the neighborhood in which this play are...
