Title
Resolution authorizing Purchase and Sale Agreements for the properties at 5664 and 5710 South 20th Street for storm water management purposes, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City to acquire two residential properties in the vicinity of South 20th Street and West Klein Avenue as part of the storm water management improvements to be made with funds from a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Municipal Flood Control Grant.
Body
Whereas, By adoption of Common Council File No. 130801 on October 15, 2013, City officials were directed to negotiate for the purchase of two properties in the 5600-5700 blocks of South 20th Street to accommodate storm water management improvements and prevent future flood-related damages; and
Whereas, The property acquisitions will be funded by a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Municipal Flood Control Grant, which acceptance and funding was authorized by adoption of Common Council File No. 121675 adopted on November 26, 2013; and
Whereas, Purchase negotiations have been completed by City staff pursuant to the direction provided by File No. 130801 and the City Attorney drafted Purchase and Sale Agreements; and
Whereas, Purchase and Sale Agreements in amounts equal to the 2012 property assessments have been executed by Alfredo Cintron and Wendy Cintron for the property at 5664 South 20th Street in the amount $244,200 and by Todd R. Johnson and Jennifer L. Johnson for the property at 5710 South 20th Street in the amount of $251,100, contingent upon approval by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Purchase and Sale Agreements executed by Alfredo Cintron and Wendy Cintron for the property at 5664 South 20th Street and by Todd R. Johnson and Jennifer L. Johnson for the property at 5710 South 20th Street are approved; and, ...
