Title
Resolution dedicating certain City-owned land for public street purposes to widen a portion of South Chase Avenue (west side) between West Rosedale Avenue and the Kinnickinnic River, in the 14th Aldermanic District of the City of Milwaukee.
Analysis
This resolution will dedicate City-owned land along South Chase Avenue (west side) between West Rosedale Avenue and the Kinnickinnic River for public street purposes.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee acquired a Street Highway Easement from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Company by Quit Claim Deed recorded as Document No. 2105471 on October 22, 1936, to realign and widen South Chase Avenue; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee acquired the former abandoned railroad property between South 6th Street and East Washington Street by Award of Damages recorded as Document No. 8703735 on December 18, 2003, which included the aforesaid easement; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has dedicated the former railroad property as a Public Pedestrian and Bicycle Way by Quit Claim Deed recorded as Document No. 09711145 on March 13, 2009, excepting the aforesaid easement which was to be dedicated for public street; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee plans to reconstruct South Chase Avenue and it is now desirable to dedicate it for public street purposes to widen South Chase Avenue to its ultimate width; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following described City-owned land hereby is set aside and dedicated for public street purposes:
All that part of City-owned Lands, in the Northeast ΒΌ of Section 8, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, between West Rosedale Avenue and the Kinnickinnic River described as lying between the present easterly line of South Chase Avenue and a line lying 110 feet westerly of and parallel to said present easterly line.
