Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City Clerk’s Office to accept and expend up to $100,000 in contributions for activities related to the Girls’ Day program held at City Hall annually.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the Code of Ordinances regulates the receipts, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

Whereas, Since 2010, the City has held Girls’ Day at City Hall to focus attention on the importance of girls and young women in the community, and to develop innovative strategies to empower them to overcome barriers to reach their full potential as the next generation of leaders; and

Whereas, On July 23, 2013, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 121590, establishing Girls’ Day as an official City of Milwaukee program held at City Hall annually; and

Whereas, The City Clerk’s Office anticipates receiving from various individuals and organizations up to $100,000 in contributions to support the Girls’ Day program; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept up to $100,000 to support activities related to the Girls’ Day program in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the City Clerk’s Office budget for the expenditure of the fund; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenues from the Special Purpose Account-Contributions, Account Number 0001-2110-0001-D001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, Account Number 0001-9990-0001-009850 to the City Cle...
