Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $2,276,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $23,486,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $2,276,000 with the total cost estimated to be $23,486,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Bremen St. - E. Hadley St. to E. Locust St. (SM495140018): Installing new storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $210,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
W. McKinley Ave. - N. 24th St. to N. 24th Pl. (SM495140027): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $82,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
N. Van Buren St. - 100 feet m/l south of E. Juneau Ave. to E. Knapp St. (SM495140021): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $165,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

Water St. Bridge over the Milwaukee River (400N) (Bascule, movable) (BR100140106): Preliminary engineering for bridge painting and miscellaneous repairs. (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $150,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,550,000. This engineering is anticipated to be completed during 2014 and the construction in 2015.

N. 86th St. - W. Burleigh St. to W. Chambers St. (SM494140201): Foundation drain disconnection. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $25,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $600,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

N. 3rd St. - W. Concordia Ave. to W. Keefe Ave. (SM495140013): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $61,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $511,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
