Title
Resolution approving the Land Disposition Report for the City-owned Neighborhood Property at 317 West National Avenue for sale to Bradley Tech Construction Academy, Inc., in the 12th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the sale of City-owned Neighborhood Property according to the conditions in the Land Disposition Report pursuant to Section 304-49-2, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
Body
Whereas, The Bradley Tech Construction Academy, Inc., (“BTCA”) a non-profit organization, has offered to purchase for one dollar the City-owned improved property at 317 West National Avenue for renovation and then sale to an owner-occupant; and

Whereas, Section 304-49-7 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances allows the City of Milwaukee (“City”) to accept unsolicited offers to buy property when the City receives fair compensation, whether monetary or non-monetary; and

Whereas, BTCA supports the educational activities and initiatives of the students and staff in the Construction Academy at the Lynde and Harry Bradley Technology & Trade School and the sale of this improved property will allow them to continue their educational program, as well as provide a new homeownership opportunity as summarized in the Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, BTCA estimates the renovation costs to be $100,000 at its sole expense; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development (“DCD”) recommends sale of this improved property with closing contingent on DCD approval of the scope of work and evidence of financing; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of DCD or his designee is authorized to accept the Offer to Purchase from BTCA for the improved property at 317 West National Avenue for purchase and renovation as outlined in the Land Disposition Report; and, be it
