Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept contributions from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for traffic safety equipment.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept contributions of money to purchase traffic safety equipment.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, Contributions of traffic safety equipment will assist the Milwaukee Police Department with traffic safety; and
Whereas, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation has offered to donate $9,500 to the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This contribution will assist the Milwaukee Police Department with the purchase of traffic safety equipment; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept contributions of traffic safety equipment; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a contribution of $9,500 from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and to expend such funds for said purpose; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the budget for the expenditure of the contribution; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Contribution Fund-General, account number 0001-2110-D001-006300, and the estimated revenue account for contributions, account number 0001-2110--0001-009850 to the Police Department’s special account 0001-331-0001-Dxxx-006300, and the Police Department’s estimated revenue account 0001-3310-0001-9850.
