Analysis
This resolution authorizes settlement of a claim pending at the Equal Rights Division of Department of Workforce Development, State of Wisconsin, Amy Purvis v. City of Milwaukee, Water Works, Case No. CR200702580, EEC Case No. 26G200701727, in the amount of $67,000 for all damages of any nature, including compensatory and punitive damages, back pay, front pay, pension loss or other economic damages, attorneys fees and costs, and any other claim for damages that could be brought concerning the subject matter of the claim or any subsequent litigation.
Body
Whereas, Amy Purvis, Water Information Systems Security Manager, filed the above captioned complaint at the Equal Rights Division, Department of Workforce Development, for the State of Wisconsin, and at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging that retaliation for having opposed discrimination in the workplace or for engaging in protected activity, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; and

Whereas, The parties have agreed to settle this lawsuit in the amount of Sixty Seven Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($67,000), for all damages, wage loss, front pay, pension loss or other benefits, attorney fees, costs, compensatory damages, punitive damages and any other claims for damages of any nature that could have been brought, as set forth in the attached proposed Settlement Agreement and General Release; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Settlement Agreement, and such further documents as may be necessary and related thereto; and, be it
