Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2008 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance makes positions changes to the following departments:

Health Department, Department of Administration-ITMD, Police Department and Department of Public Works-Water Works

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 070605 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2008 - December 30, 2007):

 

Under “Department of Administration-Information and Technology Management Division, Citywide Information Systems”, delete one position of “Internet Analyst Technician.”

 

Under “Health Department, Laboratory Services Division, delete one position of “Office Assistant IV” and add one position of “Program Assistant I.”

 

Under “Department of City Development, Real Estate and Development”, delete one position of  “Assistant Manager Development Center (Y)” and add one position of “Operations Manager-Development Center.”

 

Part 2.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 070605 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Health Department, Family and Community Health Services, Health Behaviors & Healthcare Access, Adolescent Community Health Grant (J)”, add footnote designation “(RRR)” to one position of “Health Project Coordinator-Plain Talk (X)(J)(NNN)(QQQ)(Y)” and add footnote “(RRR)” to read as follows:  “To expire 12/31/08 unless the Plain Talk Milwaukee Initiative - Pettit Foundation Grant is extended. Partially funds one position of Health Project Coordinator - Plain Talk”; under “Laboratory & Epidemiology Services, Disease Control & Prevention Division, Immunization Action Plan Grant (DD)”, add footnote designation “(CC)” to one position of “Health Project Coordinator-Immunizations (X)(Y)(A)(DD)” and add footnote “(CC)” to read as follows: “To expire 06/30/08 unless the NACCHO-Private Healthcare Provider Education and Awareness on Antiviral Medication Use During Pandemic Influenza Grant is extended. Partially funds one position of Health Project Coordinator Immunizations.”

 

Under “Police Department, Operations Decision Unit”, amend footnote “(K)” to read as follows: “High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Grant. Position authority to expire if HIDTA funding and the HIDTA project are discontinued or until 12/31/08 unless the HIDTA grant is extended” and amend footnote “(S)” to read as follows: “State Beat Patrol Grant: To expire 12/31/2008 unless the Beat Patrol Grant, available from the State of Wisconsin, Office of Justice Assistance is extended.”

 

Under “Department of Public Works-Water Works, Plants -South Organization, Howard Control Center”, delete six positions of “Water System Operator In Charge” and add six positions of “Water System Operator.”

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2008 (December 30, 2007).

 

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

 

Part 5.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
