Minutes note: The court reporter was sworn in prior to the beginning of the meeting. The question was put: Have the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendation of the Licenses Committee and the exceptions filed in this matter? All members indicated that they had done so. The question was put: Is Mr. Thomas McNeal or his attorney present and, if so, does either wish to address the Common Council? Mr. McNeal was present by counsel. Ald. Witkowiak moved that the Common Council resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of taking testimony in this matter. There was no objection. Attorney Franklyn Gimbel appeared on behalf of Mr. McNeal. Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared on behalf of the office of the City Attorney. Ald. Witkowiak moved that the committee rise. There was no objection.

Substitute motion revoking the Class “B” Tavern license of Thomas McNeal for “Club Escape” at 6263 N. Teutonia Ave.

Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Department filed a notarized complaint requesting the revocation of the Class “B” Tavern license of Thomas McNeal for “Club Escape” at 6263 N. Teutonia Ave. based upon the police incidents at the premises and items contained in the police report; and

 

Whereas, The licensee was served with a copy of the complaint and the police report on November 29, 2007; and

 

Whereas, The Licenses Committee held evidentiary hearings on December 5 and December 20, 2007; and

 

Whereas, Based on the police report and testimony provided at this hearing, the Committee unanimously voted to revoke the license of Thomas McNeal for “Club Escape” at 6263 N. Teutonia Ave.; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Class "B" Tavern license of Thomas McNeal for the premises at 6263 N. Teutonia Ave. ("Club Escape") is revoked.
