Title
Resolution relative to entering into the 2008 Delivery Services Agreement between the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Library and the Milwaukee County Federated Library System.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the lease of approximately 6,256 square feet of space at the Central Library by the Milwaukee County Federated Library for 2008 and 2009 for a total of $241,250.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee County Federated Library System was established to facilitate the orderly and efficient operation of cooperative library services throughout Milwaukee County; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Public Library have entered into agreements relative to membership in the Milwaukee County Federated Library System (MCFLS) since 1973; and
Whereas, In 1994 the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Public Library entered into a seven year lease with MCFLS whereby MCFLS leases certain space within the Milwaukee Public Library’s Central Library; and
Whereas, It is beneficial for the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Public Library to enter into the 2008 Delivery Services Agreement with MCFLS to provide material delivery services between Milwaukee Public Library locations; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee County Federated Library System has agreed to pay $59,316 for these services; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library and the proper City officers are hereby authorized to enter into the 2008 Delivery Services Agreement with the Milwaukee County Federated Library System
