Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with Milwaukee County for the City of Milwaukee’s construction costs associated with the improvement of West Good Hope Road (CTH PP) from North 107th Street to North Port Washington Road. This resolution also authorizes the City Comptroller to establish the necessary account for the City of Milwaukee’s estimated share of the non-assessable construction costs on the project. The total cost of the project is approximately $5,000,000.00 of which the City of Milwaukee’s cost is $84,724.00 and the Milwaukee County/WISDOT share is $4,915,276.00.

Whereas, Milwaukee County’s Department of Public Works has scheduled the improvement of West Good Hope Road (CTH PP) from North 107th Street to North Port Washington Road for the summer of 2008; and

Whereas, City of Milwaukee sanitary sewer manholes, communications and underground conduit manholes, water gate valves, water service boxes, and underground conduit for street lighting and signals lie within the paving limits and must be adjusted/replaced as part of the roadway project; and

Whereas, Sidewalk construction between North 51st Street and North 91st Street, in areas that currently do not have sidewalk, is proposed as part of the project; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has requested and Milwaukee County has agreed to undertake that aforementioned work with their paving contractor in conjunction with their improvement project at City of Milwaukee cost; and
