Title
Resolution authorizing the acceptance and funding of a $630,580 U. S. Department of Homeland Security FY 2007 IPP Port Security Grant.

Analysis
This resolution authorize the City of Milwaukee to accept a $630,580 (75%) U. S. Department of Homeland Security FY 2007 IPP Port Security Grant, with a required City share of $210,194 (25%) and authorizes the Port of Milwaukee, the Police Department and the Fire Department to expend the Grant funds in accordance with the grant award.

Body
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File No. 061427 adopted on 3/22/07 authorizes the application for a 2007 Port security Grant from the United States Department of Homeland security; and

Whereas The City of Milwaukee has received grant award notice 2007-GB-T7-0332 totaling $630,580 as a result of the application; and

Whereas, Tthe following projects are included in the grant work:

1. Equipment and installation necessary to upgrade security and implement the transportation workers identification card system including cameras, fencing, barriers, upgrading lighting and facilities/perimeter security (Port - Grant Amount of $477,138 with a City share of $159,046, totaling $636,184).

2. Equipment necessary to provide facilities/perimeter enhanced security (Police Department - Grant Amount $142,530 with a City share of $47,510 totaling $190,040; Fire Department - Grant Amount $10,912 with a City share of $3,638, totaling $14,550); now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Departments are authorized to accept and expend this grant without further approval unless terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to:
