Analysis
This substitute resolution awards the City’s group life insurance contract for 2008 through 2010 to Standard Insurance Company. This resolution requires the City Attorney and the Executive Director of the Employes’ Retirement System to negotiate a formal contract to be approved by the Common Council.
Body
Whereas, The City has solicited proposals for the City’s group life insurance contract for 2008 through 2010; and
Whereas, The City has retained the consulting services of Willis of Wisconsin, Inc. to assist the City in preparing specifications developing a list of prospective bidders and evaluating the proposals that are received in response to the request for proposals; and
Whereas, The consultant has evaluated the proposals and has recommended the City award the proposal of Standard Insurance Company and the Executive Director of the Employes’ Retirement System and the City Attorney concurs in this recommendation; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the recommendation of the selection of Standard Insurance Company as the City’s group life insurance carrier for the period 2008 through 2010; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Executive Director of the Employes’ Retirement System and the City Attorney be and hereby are authorized to negotiate the terms of a formal agreement between Standard Insurance Company and the City of Milwaukee for approval by the Common Council; such agreement to incorporate the request for proposals and the proposal of Standard Insurance Company.
