Title

Analysis
This resolution will permit the City of Milwaukee to convey property to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (“MMSD”) is undertaking a flood management plan along the Menomonee River and designated a number of properties for acquisition for the project including the municipal warehouse at 1016-28 North Hawley Road; and

Whereas, MMSD has followed Chapter 32.05, Wisconsin Statutes, for property acquisition including provision of independent appraisals; and

Whereas, MMSD and the City Real Estate Officer have reached an agreement on the purchase price of $500,000 and for continued occupancy of the property by the City of Milwaukee (“City”) at no cost until June 30, 2009 to accommodate the needs of the Election Commission; and

Whereas, MMSD will work with City staff on relocation of building occupants and stored materials during the occupancy period; and

Whereas, MMSD will reimburse the City for all such relocation and system replacement expenses and any costs associated with replacement or construction of any structures as permitted by Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined the property to be surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the municipal warehouse at 1016-28 North Hawley Road is declared surplus to municipal needs and that the City is authorized to convey the property to MMSD for the stated consideration; and, be it
