Substitute resolution amending Common Council File #070295 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Breast Cancer Awareness Grant from the State of Wisconsin - Division of Health and Family Services.
Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #070295 relative to the application, acceptance and funding of the Milwaukee Breast Cancer Awareness Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $104,302 grantor share. The grant funds will be used to expand the scope of the Wisconsin Women’s Cancer Control Program.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Health Department requires a budget amendment to the originally adopted budget; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project remains unchanged from 07/01/07 to 06/30/08 and will cost $104,302 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2007 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and
3. Enter into subcontracts as specified in the grant budget.

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2007 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 060494, should be amended as follows:
