Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a 2008 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Funding Assistance Program grant in the amount of $80,256.30.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund a 2008 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Funding Assistance Program grant (formerly known as Act 102) from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the amount of $80,256.30, with the grantor share of $80,256.30. The purpose of the project is to enhance provision of emergency medical services through purchase of ambulance vehicles and vehicle equipment, emergency medical service supplies and equipment, and training.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for additional equipment, supplies, and training to enhance city provision of emergency medical services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008 would cost approximately $80,256.30 of which, 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the grant shall be accepted without further approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in Common Council File 030712; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special account within the Milwaukee Fire Department budget for the expenditure of the funds, and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, fund the following accounts for the program/project titled Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program:
