Analysis

This ordinance modifies vacation benefits for certain city employees by providing the fire chief and the chief of police vacation benefits similar to that currently provided to public officials appointed pursuant to s. 62.51, Wis. Stats.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 350-40-3-a-1-0 and 2-0 of the code are amended to read:

 

350-40.  Vacations.

 

3.  TIME EARNED FOR ANNUAL VACATION PERIOD.  a.  Full Time Employes.

 

a-1. Management pay plan employes, except the executive director of the employes’ retirement system>>, the fire chief, the chief of police<< and public officials appointed pursuant to s. 62.51, Wis. Stats., and their deputies, and nonrepresented, nonmanagement employes, except police aides, shall earn vacation time for a fiscal year on a pay period basis in the following manner:

 

a-2. Public officials appointed pursuant to s. 62.51, Wis. Stats., as well as the executive director of the employes’ retirement system,>>the fire chief and the chief of police,<< shall earn vacation time for a fiscal year on a pay period basis in the following manner:
