Title

Resolution to authorize the City Attorney to execute additional documents in furtherance of the settlement agreement in the matter of Steven J. Alexander, et al v. City of Milwaukee, et al.

Analysis

This resolution provides the City Attorney with additional authorization to execute documents in furtherance of the settlement agreement previously approved in resolution file number 070463 ending the lawsuit of Steven J. Alexander, et al v. City of Milwaukee, et al, United States District Court Case Number 03-C-611. 

Body

Whereas, The Common Council passed a resolution in file number 070463 approving settlement in the matter of Steven J. Alexander, et al v. City of Milwaukee, et al, United States District Court Case Number 03-C-611, on July 31, 2007; and

 

Whereas, Certain documents, including addendums to the settlement agreement, and assignments and releases are needed to place settlement funds on behalf of some of the plaintiffs  with Allstate International Assignments, Ltd.; and

 

Whereas, These additional documents will have no monetary impact on the City of Milwaukee;  now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney be and hereby is authorized to execute whatever additional documents may be needed to supplement the Settlement Agreement previously approved in file number 070463.
