Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Lead Safe for Kids Sake Grant from the Cities United for Science Progress in the amount of $50,000. The grant funds will continue to support comprehensive and coordinated services to children and their families to prevent childhood lead poisoning.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Cities United for Science Progress in the amount of $50,000. The grant funds will continue to support comprehensive and coordinated services to children and their families to prevent childhood lead poisoning; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 10/01/07 to 06/30/08 would cost $50,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Cities United for Science Progress is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amounts for the project titled Lead Safe for Kids Sake Grant:
