Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2007 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance makes positions changes to the following departments:

Fire Department, Health Department, Department of Neighborhood Services, Police Department, Department of Public Works -Operations Division

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 1 of ordinance File Number 060494 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Fire Department, Supporting Services Decision Unit - UASI Grant”, amend footnote “(B)” to read as follows: “To expire 6/30/10, unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended" and amend footnote “(G)”  to read as follows: “To expire 6/30/10, unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended.”

 

Under “Health Department, Disease Control and Prevention Division,” amend footnote “(FFF)” to read as follows:  “To expire 6/30/10, unless the Urban Areas Security Initiate Program Grant”, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended”; Under “Healthy Behaviors and Healthcare Access Division, Milwaukee Breast Cancer Awareness Program”, delete one position of “Public Health Nurse (X)(G)(KK)(GG)” and add one position of “Public Health Nurse (X)(G)(KK)(GG)(U)”; amend footnote “(BB)” to read as follows: “To expire 9/30/08 unless the Refugee Health Screening Grant is extended. Partially funds Health Interpreter Aide position”; amend footnote “(NNN)” to read as follows: “To expire 12/28/08 unless the Plain Talk Initiative - Untied Way is extended. Partially funds one position of Health Project Coordinator - Plaintalk.”

 

Under “Department of Neighborhood Services, Court Section”, delete one position of “Code Enforcement Assistant Supervisor (X)(Y)” and add one position of “Building Codes Court Administrator (X) (Y).”

 

Under “Police Department, Operations Decision Unit, Criminal Investigation Bureau, Intelligence Division, Crime Analysis”, delete one position of “Crime & Intelligence Specialist” and add one position of “Crime & Intelligence Specialist (J)” and add footnote “(J)” to read as follows: “To expire 9/30/09 unless the Safe Streets Initiative grant from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, through the State of Wisconsin, Office of Justice Assistance, is extended”; under “Intelligence Division,” amend footnote “(C)” to read as follows: “To expire 6/30/10, unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended.”

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Operations Division, Fleet Operations/Dispatch Section”, delete two position of “Operations Driver/Worker”; under “Auxiliary Positions”, delete three positions of “Clerk Dispatcher II” and add two positions of “Communications Assistant III” and one position of “Communications Assistant IV.”

 

Part 2.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 3.  The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

 

Part 4.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
