Title

Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2007 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance makes rates of pay changes to the rates of pay to the following:

Fire and Police Commission and Police Department

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 060493 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective October 23, 2007):

 

Under “Salary Grade 014, add footnote designation “2/” to the title of “Fire and Police Commission Executive Director” and add footnote “2/” to read as follows: “While occupying this title, Michael G. Tobin, shall be paid at rates consistent with Pay Range 148.”

 

Part 2. Section 18 of ordinance File Number 060493 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2007 - December 31, 2006):

 

Delete the current rates of pay for Pay Ranges 801, 804, 808, 812 and 813 and substitute therefor the following:

Part 5. Part II. Administration of Pay Plan. Section 11, of ordinance File Number 060493 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2007 - December 31, 2006):

 

Delete the paragraph in Sec. 11 referring to Police Liaison Officer and add the following paragraph:

 

Sec. 11. Police Liaison Officer:  The salary rate of the position of Police Liaison Officer shall be equivalent to the pay step in the pay range the employee would normally occupy had he or she remained a member of the Milwaukee Police Department. In addition, effective Pay Period 1, 2004, an employee occupying the position of Police Liaison Officer shall receive $150 biweekly as compensation in lieu of overtime and certain other payments and allowances received by a member of the Milwaukee Police Department. Effective for employees retiring on normal service retirement between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2009, such $150 biweekly payment shall be included in the final average salary for purposes of computing an employee’s retirement allowance. The amount an employee is entitled to include in the final average salary shall be the total amount of the $150 biweekly payments the employee received in any twelve (12) month period.

 

Part 6.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 7.  The provisions of Part 1 this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after October 23. 2007.

 

The provisions of Parts 2 and 5 this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2007 (December 31, 2006).

 

The provisions of Part 3 this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2008 (December 30, 2007).

 

The provisions of Part 4 this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2009 (December 28, 2008).

 

Part 8.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
