Tom Fisher, Vice President, Milwaukee Police Association.
The departments present provided the following tentative guidelines for hiring of Community Service Officers.
-The position previously titled Community Service Officer may be changed to Police Services Assistant, with plans to hire 15 individuals.
-After approval by the Fire & Police Commission, the announcement and bulletin for the position may be posted approximately July 26, 2007.
-Department of Employee Relations recruitment process may began approximately August 6th - 24th, 2007.
-Testing and exams may take place the end of October 2007.
-The tentative salary range would be 498 with an estimated salary of $33,134 - $38,786.
-Eligible list should be completed approximately early November 2007.
-Possibly began background checks and drug tests approximately November 2007.
-Training and hiring may be completed by the end of 2007.
-Tentative Qualifications - Must be 21 at date of application, a valid drivers license, 2 years of successful experience in public safety, law enforcement support or community relations.
