Analysis
This resolution authorizes the expenditure of funds from the 2005 and 2006 Municipal Garages/Outlying Facilities Remodeling capital accounts, administered by the Department of Public Works. The Common Council appropriated $2,000,000 for the project in the 2005 Adopted City Budget, and $500,000 in the 2006 Adopted City Budget. A footnote in the Adopted Budget requires Common Council approval for expenditures to be made.

Whereas, The Common Council approved the City of Milwaukee 2005 Budget as Common Council Resolution 040795 adopted November 12, 2004 including a Capital Improvement New borrowing appropriation in the amount of $2,000,000 for the Department of Public Works Municipal Garages/Outlying Facilities Capital Account - DPW capital project (0321-9990-R999-BU110030300); and

Whereas, The Common Council approved the City of Milwaukee 2006 Budget as Common Council Resolution 050784 adopted November 11, 2005 including a Capital Improvement New Borrowing appropriate in the amount of $500,000 for Department of Public Works Municipal Garages/Outlying Facilities Capital Account - DPW capital project (0321-9990-R999-BU110030300); and

Whereas, Included a budget footnote reading, “Funds allocated for the Muni Garages/Outlying Facilities Remodeling Program may not be expended without Common Council approval;” and

Whereas, This footnote had been included in the budget pending a detailed scope definition by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has provided a detailed scope of the project; which includes retrofits of the lighting, hydraulic lifts, elevator, emergency generator, compressed air and lube systems, paging system, technician work stations, an...
