Analysis
This Resolution authorizes the Port of Milwaukee to apply for, accept and fund a Wisconsin Department of Transportation Harbor Assistance Grant for dockwall rehabilitation and related work at 623 E. Bay Street.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Harbor Assistance Program; and

Whereas, It is the mission of the Port of Milwaukee to enhance the overall economic environment of the region by stimulating trade, business, and employment; and

Whereas, The Port of Milwaukee is planning a Pier / Channel Improvement and Related Work Project - specifically - dockwall rehabilitation and related work at 623 E. Bay Street; and

Whereas, A dockwall rehabilitation and related work at 623 E. Bay Street Project has been approved by the City of Milwaukee's Board of Harbor Commissioners at its meeting of June 28, 2007; and

Whereas, A Pier Improvement Project and related work, has been included in the approved Port Capital Improvements budget; and

Whereas, A Pier Improvement Project and related work, has been approved by the City of Milwaukee's Common Council (meeting of 3/22/07) as part of the Port of Milwaukee's Three-Year Statement of Intentions, and has been submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and

Whereas, The project is estimated to cost approximately $600,000 with $480,000 coming from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Harbor Assistance Fund and $120,000 coming from the 2007 capital budget; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Port of Milwaukee is authorized to apply for and accept the grant without further approval unless terms of the grant change...
