Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a maintenance agreement with Milwaukee Public Schools relating to beautification of the triangle median located in the public right-of-way at the intersection of North 85th Street and West Auer Avenue. Under the terms of the agreement, the Milwaukee School of Languages, a Milwaukee public school, would design, coordinate and install desired plants. Design and plants choices are subject to City approval.
Body
Whereas, Milwaukee School of Languages (MSL), a facility of the Milwaukee Public Schools, has expressed interest in beautifying the triangle median located in the public right-of-way at the intersection of 85th Street and West Auer Avenue with the assistance of the City; and

Whereas, MSL proposes to design, coordinate and install plants in the median located at the intersection of North 85th Street and West Auer Avenue; and

Whereas, The City will retain ownership of these premises; and

Whereas, The beautification project would consist of removing some turf on the median and installing landscaping; and

Whereas, MSL will be responsible for managing the first phase of the beautification project including design, overall coordination and installation of landscaping; and

Whereas, MSL will maintain the landscaping in the median once the improvements have been completed; and

Whereas, The City will import the topsoil and wood chips, and will continue to maintain the median with the exception of the landscaping; and
