Subtitute resolution relative to various legislative bills.

Body

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following position on the bills hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby approves the following legislative bills and instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committee to support such bills and use its best endeavors to have the same enacted into law, viz:

 

AB-409/SB-223 Expanding the area in which a tax incremental district's project costs may be expended.

 

AB-203 Authorizing cities, villages, towns, and counties to solicit bids for certain contracts by using the Internet.

 

; And, be it

 

Further Resolved That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to watch and report on the following, viz:

 

AB-77 Distributing the school levy and lottery and gaming property tax credits.

 

; And, be it

 

Further Resolved, that the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee is opposed to the following legislative bills and hereby instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees in opposition to said bills and use its best endeavors in opposition to the same viz:

 

AB-140 School Board approval of subdivision plats.

 

SB-214/AB-433 the disclosure of certain library records to law enforcement officers.

 

AB-426 Determining the value of billboards for personal property tax purposes.
