Body
Whereas, James Schleif and William Morley requested permission to keep and maintain a set of porch steps in the public right-of-way; and

Whereas, Permission for said porch steps was granted in 1996 under Common Council File Number 960520; and

Whereas, William H. Morley is sole owner of the property; and

Whereas, For the liability to be formally transferred to the current property owner, the Common Council needs to adopt an amending resolution; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 960520 is hereby rescinded; and, be it

Further Resolved, That William H. Morley, 1840 West Greenwood Road, Glendale, Wisconsin 53209, is hereby granted the following special privilege:

To keep and maintain one set of front porch steps projecting 3 feet into the east, 22-foot wide sidewalk area of North Cass Street. Said steps are centered approximately 110 feet south of the southline of East Juneau Avenue. The lowest step measures 7 feet 11 inches long and 1 foot 2 inches wide. Higher steps measure 5 feet 4 inches long and 1 foot 10 inches wide. Said steps do not infringe upon the paved public sidewalk nor interfere with the pedestrian movement on North Cass Street. Total area of said steps is 19.02 square feet.

Said above-mentioned porch steps shall be used, kept and maintained to the satisfaction of the Commissioners of Public Works and Department of Neighborhood Services.
