Title
Resolution authorizing a transfer of funds from the Capital Improvements Advance Planning Fund to a subaccount for the Villard Avenue Revitalization Plan, in the 1st Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution transfers $25,000 in funds from the Capital Improvements Advance Planning Fund into Subaccount No. UR01280133. This subaccount allocation will provide consultant assistance for the development of a commercial revitalization plan, will provide for conducting a focus group and will provide for computer generated drawings.
Body
Whereas, The Department of City Development (“DCD”) is working with the Villard Avenue Business Improvement District board to develop a revitalization plan that includes a statement of existing conditions and summary of issues and opportunities; program-based recommendations for the corridor and a list of existing city-based resources; and site plan scenarios for the 3300 and 3400 block of Villard Avenue, both with and without a library, as well as streetscaping recommendations; and
Whereas, DCD continues work on comprehensive planning activities, including commercial analysis and land-use policy development; and
Whereas, Technical assistance in these planning activities has often been provided by outside consultants; and
Whereas, Funds are necessary to provide for such consultant services as the need arises; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is directed to transfer the amount of $25,000 from the Capital Improvements Advance Planning Fund, Account No. UR01280000A, to be allocated to Villard Avenue Plan, Account No. UR01280133, to be used by DCD for consulting services; and, be it
Further Resolved, That DCD is directed to enter into such contracts and agreements as necessary to accomplish the intent and purpose of this resolution.
