Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions, determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct and levy special assessments for the following improvements:
6th Aldermanic District
N. 24th St. - W. Nash St. to W. Vienna Ave. (ST211070120) File Number 061289: Asphalt pavement reconstruction, replace curb and gutter and sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding, and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $25,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $ 90,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $129,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.
8th Aldermanic District
S. 24th St. - A point south of W. Lapham St. to W. Greenfield Ave. (ST211020121) File Number 060699: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding, and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $68,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $120,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $210,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Lapham St. - S. 34th St. to S. 35th St. (ST211070158) File Number 061097: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where needed, sodding, grading, and tree removal where necessary. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $23,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $25,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $56,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Marilyn St. (ST211020119) File Number 970750: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding, and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $38,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $45,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $90,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Alley between W. Dakota St., W. Manitoba St., S. 10th St., and S. 11th St. (ST212010134) File Number 991271: Concrete alley pavement reconstruction. (Assessable Alley Paving Fund -- $67,400; Nonassessable Alley Paving Fund -- $25,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,400. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

W. Kisslich Pl. - N. 39th St. to N. 40th St. (ST211060143) File Number 041031: Concrete pavement reconstruction (inverted crown), sodding, and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $22,500; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $47,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $77,500. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Cherry St. (ST211060135) File Number 051444: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where needed, sodding, grading, and tree removal where necessary. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $31,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $42,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $85,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Whereas, The report of the Commissioner of Public Works has been filed with the City Clerk; and
Whereas, Notices have been sent to all interested persons and public hearings held; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works’ Report, as amended at said Public Hearing, is approved and the properties therein identified are benefited; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work in accordance with said report pursuant to Section 66.0703 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting or adjacent properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the projects do not involve any parcels of agricultural land which are eligible for deferred special assessments under the provisions of Section 14.30 of the Milwaukee City Charter; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That projects: N. 24th St. (ST211070120), S. 24th St. (ST211020121), W. Lapham St. (ST211070158), W. Wanda Ave. (ST211020119), Alley W. Dakota St. (ST212010134), W. Kisslich Pl. (ST211060143), and N. 37th St. (ST211060135) will be billed after January 1, 2009, and W. Edgerton Ave. (ST211060129) will be billed after January 1, 2010 but not before 12 months after the project contract has been completed; and, be it
