Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept and fund an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation in the amount of $63,500 with a grantor share of $63,500 and a city share of $-0-. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime for assistance in specified OCDETF investigations and prosecutions.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 09/01/06 to 09/30/07 would cost $63,500 of which $63,500 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation is authorized and that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council file 030712; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force:
