Substitute resolution relating to the 2007 Capital Improvement Program and the lighting of Good Hope Road, west of N. 91st Street to Interstate Highway 45.

Analysis

The Department of Public Works has indicated that if funding became available the lighting of Good Hope Road, west of N. 91st Street to Interstate Highway 45, would be upgraded. This resolution directs the Department of Public Works not to initiate any work related to the upgrade of the lighting of Good Hope Road west of N.  91st Street to Interstate Highway 45, unless such work is authorized by the Common Council.

Body

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has indicated that if funding became available the lighting of Good Hope Road west of N. 91st Street to Interstate Highway 45 would be upgraded; and

Whereas, A survey of area residents that would be affected by the upgrade was conducted; and

Whereas, The results of the survey showed that the area residents overwhelming opposed the lighting upgrade now; therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department Works is directed not to initiate any work related to the upgrade of the lighting of Good Hope Road west of N. 91st Street to Interstate Highway 45, unless such work is authorized by the Common Council.
