Title

An ordinance relating to residency requirements for amusement machine premises and phonograph distributor licenses.

Analysis

This ordinance:

 

1.  Replaces a state residence and a one-year county residency requirement with a 90-day state residency requirement for an applicant for an amusement machine premises license.

 

2.  Replaces the county one-year residency requirement with a state one-year residency requirement for corporate agents applying for a phonograph distributor license.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 84-56-3-b of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

 

84-56. Qualifications.

3. AMUSEMENT MACHINE PREMISES LICENSE.

b.  The individual, partners or corporate agent applying for the amusement machine license shall have been a resident of the state of Wisconsin continuously for at least 90 days prior to the date of the application.

 

Part 2. Section 107-13-3-c-2 of the code is amended to read:

 

107-13. Phonograph Distributors, Premises, and Machines; Licenses and Permits.

3. DISTRIBUTOR’S LICENSE.

c-2. Residency.  No distributor’s license shall be granted to any person or partner not a resident of this state for at least one year prior to the date of the filing of the application.  In the case of a corporate applicant, a one year [[county residency requirement shall apply to the agent, and all officers and directors of the corporation must be residents of this state for at least one year prior to the date of filing of the application]]>>state residency requirement shall apply to the agent<<.
