Title
Resolution authorizing a quit claim deed to dedicate the west side of North 10th Street between West Highland and West Juneau Avenues, in the 4th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to execute and accept a quit claim deed to dedicate land for public right-of-way.
Body
Whereas, Certified Survey Map (“CSM”) No. 7863 for The Brewery Project provided for the partial extension of North 10th Street through the project area between West Highland and West Juneau Avenues; and
Whereas, Additional land is needed to complete the North 10th Street extension from the property at 1124 North 11th Street that is owned by the City of Milwaukee in Trust for the Milwaukee Board of School Directors; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Board of School Directors has authorized conveyance and dedication of this land for public right-of-way, a map of which is attached as Exhibit A; and
Whereas, The legal description of the property to be acquired and dedicated is as follows:
That part of vacated North 10th Street in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, Township 7 North, Range 22 East, described as follows: Commencing at the southeast corner of Lot 1 of CSM No. 7863; thence South 00°58’20” East, parallel to the westerly line of said CSM and the present west line of North 10th Street, to a point in the north line of West Highland Avenue; thence Easterly, along the easterly extension of said north line, to the southwest corner of said CSM; thence North 00°58’20” West, along the west line of said CSM and the present west line of North 10th Street, 299.73 feet to a point; thence South 89°03’49” West 30.00 feet to the point of commencement; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved acquisition and dedication of land for extension of North 10th Street between West Highland and West Juneau Avenues; now, therefore, be it
