Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of City Development to apply for a 2008 Urban Nonpoint Source & Storm Water Management Grant to provide funding for consultant assistance to study the feasibility of the development of a Storm Water Incentive Program for the 30th Street Industrial Corridor.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) is seeking to provide support to the area known as the 30th Street Industrial Corridor; and
Whereas, Similar to the way in which the storm water park in the Menomonee Valley benefits nearby Valley businesses, a Storm Water Incentive Program in the 30th Street Industrial Corridor is anticipated to benefit companies that decide to locate in the corridor; and
Whereas, Improved storm water treatment in the corridor will improve the environmental health of Lincoln Creek and ultimately the Milwaukee River; and
Whereas, To assist in providing funding for consultant assistance for said feasibility study and program development, the City wishes to apply for a 2008 Urban Nonpoint Source & Storm Water Management Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee, Department of City Development, is authorized to apply for a 2008 Urban Nonpoint Source & Storm Water Management Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, for the purposes stated herein.
