Title

Resolution authorizing the installation of two new traffic control signals at the Direct Supply, Inc. pedestrian crossings at 6767 North Industrial Road in the 9th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install new traffic control signals on Industrial Road at Direct Supply, Inc.  Direct Supply, Inc. is located at 6767 North Industrial Road.  The traffic signals are being installed to accommodate pedestrians and are being funded by Direct Supply, Inc.

Body

Whereas, Common Council authorized execution of an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Direct Supply, Inc. in conjunction with the proposed expansion of Direct Supply, Inc., under Common Council File Number 060706 on October 24, 2006; and

 

Whereas, The executed Out-of-Program Agreement provides the option for Direct Supply, Inc. to request the installation of traffic signals on North Industrial Road at the Direct Supply, Inc. pedestrian crossings (approximately 6767 North Industrial Road); and

 

Whereas, A large number of pedestrians cross North Industrial Road between Direct Supply, Inc.’s offices and its parking lots; and

 

Whereas, The total estimated cost of the installation is $68,000, 100% of which is being provided by Direct Supply, Inc. under conditions of the Out of Program Agreement; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner

of Public Works is authorized to install two new traffic control signals at North Industrial Road at the Direct Supply, Inc. pedestrian crossings (approximately 6767 North Industrial Road) as requested by Direct Supply, Inc. under terms and conditions included in the Out of Program Agreement.
