Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Ready to Read with Books2Go Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for, accept and fund a Ready to Read with Books2Go Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the amount of $87,763 with a city share of $16,883 and a grantor share of $70,880. The purpose of the project is to expand library services to preschool children in cooperation with various childcare providers.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin for the purpose of expanding library services to preschool children in cooperation with various childcare providers; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 01/01/07 to 12/31/07 would cost $87,763 of which $16,883 (19%) would be provided by the city and $70,880 (81%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2007 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled " Ready to Read with Books2Go Grant:"
