Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to enter into a funding agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for installation of traffic control improvements in conjunction with the paving of South 35th Street from West Morgan Avenue to West Lakefield Avenue in the 11th Aldermanic District at a total estimated cost of $30,394.52, with an estimated State share of $24,315.62, and an estimated City share of $6,078.90, and to install these improvements upon execution of the agreement. The total estimated cost of the entire project is $1,043,144.52, with an estimated State share of $834,515.62 and an estimated City share of $208,628.90. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, The Project Agreement for the paving of South 35th Street from West Morgan Avenue to West Lakefield Avenue was approved by the Common Council under File Number 040400; and

Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for traffic control improvements in conjunction with the paving of highways located on the Federal/State Aid Highway System; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $30,394.52 for the alteration and upgrade of traffic control signals and the upgrade of traffic control signs; and

Whereas, Twenty percent of the participating costs, or $6,078.90, is included in the Division’s 2007 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320070000; and
