Minutes note: The court reporter was sworn in. The question was put: Have the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Licenses Committee in this matter? All members indicated that they had done so, Ald. Hines excused. The question was put: Is Paramjeet Kharag or his counsel present and, if so, does either wish to address the Council? Mr. Kharag was present by counsel. Ald. Witkowiak moved that the Common Council enter the Committee of the Whole for the purpose of taking testimony with respect to this matter. There was no objection. Attorney Navdeep Singh appeared on behalf of Mr. Kharag. Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared on behalf of the office of the City Attorney. Ald. Witkowiak moved that the Committe of the Whole rise. There was no objection. Ald. Bauman moved to suspend the rules to permit introduction of an amendment not in writing. There was no objection. Ald Davis moved, not withstanding the recommendation of the committee, to issue a warning letter to Paramjeet Kharag. Ald Puente asked for a friendly amendment to permit the incident at the establishment of December 31, 2006, to be reserved for consideration in 2007. Ald. Davis assented. On the amendment: PASS, Ald.
