Title

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the additional funding for the foundation drain disconnection project (SM498050001), which is part of the Flow Reduction Projects

Body

Whereas, The 2005 budget for the Sewer Maintenance Fund included funding and borrowing authority in the amount of $1,206,000 for four flow reduction projects; and

Whereas, The foundation drain disconnection project (Project), which is part of said flow reduction projects that were budgeted for in 2005, was authorized for a construction cost of $505,000 per Common Council File Number 041349; and

Whereas, The Common Council, on July 6, 2005, adopted Resolution File Number 050268 that authorized an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement between the City and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD), in which MMSD will pay 50% (up to $250,000) of the Project cost; and

Whereas, The adoption of Resolution File Number 050268 removed the borrowing authority for $250,000 of the original budget amount for the Project; and

Whereas, The Project was bid on September 20, 2006 as Official Notice Number 142 with the low bid cost being $554,770; and

Whereas, Additional funding is needed to award the Project; said additional funding will not increase the borrowing above the original amount approved in the 2005 budget; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the foundation drain disconnection project is authorized additional funding in the amount of $200,000 from the Sewer Maintenance Fund and that the Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the amount from the parent account (SM498050000) to the Project account number SM498050001.
