Body

Whereas, The plaintiff, South Star, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee, Case No. 05CV002680 in an unspecified amount following the filing of a claim in an amount exceeding $50,000; and

Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settle the lawsuit in the amount of $24,000; and

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it is expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $24,000, payable to the order of the Hall Legal, S.C. Trust Account, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a Release of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, City of Milwaukee charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001 1490 S118 006300.
