Title

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to direct installation of and enter into a funding agreement, subject to minor changes and clarification to be approved by the City Attorney, for two traffic signals near the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Full funding for signal installation, operation and maintenance is to be provided by the Forest County Potawatomi Community of Wisconsin. One traffic signal will be installed at West Canal Street and North Potawatomi Circle (former 16th Street) and the second will be installed at the proposed intersection of South 16th Street and the Potawatomi Structure Ramp in the 8th and 12th Aldermanic Districts.

Whereas, Traffic volumes on West Canal Street and North Potawatomi Circle (former 16th Street) are such that a traffic signal is warranted for safe operation of this intersection; and

Whereas, A traffic signal at South 16th Street Viaduct and the Potawatomi Structure Ramp is anticipated to be warranted based on traffic projections and was agreed to in the Out of Program Agreement for the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Expansion; and

Whereas, The total estimated combined cost of the installations are $110,000, of which 100 percent is being provided by the Forest County Potawatomi Community of Wisconsin and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2006 Capital Grant and Aids Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032060100; and
