Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Team Nutrition Training Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Team Nutrition Training Grant Project from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the amount of $23,120. The purpose of the project is to promote healthy eating and physical activity among school-aged children and youth.
Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to provide a Team Nutrition Training program to MPS schools to improve nutrition and physical activity in school-aged children and youth; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09/01/06 to 06/30/07 would cost $23,120 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Project Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Team Nutrition Training Grant:
