Analysis
Common Council Resolution Number 000019, adopted May 19, 2000 directed the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and directed the City Comptroller to establish accounts for preliminary engineering for the Kinnickinnic River Bicycle Trail project. This project is funded 80 percent by Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Funds (CMAQ) and 20 percent by City of Milwaukee funds. The Common Council subsequently adopted Resolution Numbers 040623, 041290, and 051365, which established funding for preliminary engineering totaling $199,000 ($159,200 CMAQ and $39,800 City funds) This resolution transfers an additional $25,000 ($20,000 CMAQ and $5,000 City) into the preliminary engineering accounts to cover a shortfall in funds to finalize the plans for the bridge over South Chase Avenue.
