Analysis
This ordinance changes the multiple trip permit fees for oversize and overload vehicles not requiring traffic officer escorts as follows:

1. The fee for each oversize or overweight trip permit for one month is decreased from $305 to $150.

2. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit shall be $250 for 12 months rather than the current fee of $555 for 6 months.

The fees for multiple trip permits for oversize and overweight vehicles that do require traffic officer escorts remain unchanged.

Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 81-80 of the code is renumbered 81-50.5 and 81-50.5-0 and 81-50.5-3 and 4 is amended to read:

81-50.5. [[Oversize or Overload]] >>Excessive Size, Weight and Load<< Vehicle Permit.
3. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit for one month shall be [[$305]]>>$150<<.
4. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit for [[6]] >>12<< months shall be [[$555]] >>$250<<.

Part 2. Section 101-5.5-6 of the code is renumbered 101-5.5-7.
Part 3`. Section 101-5.5-6 of the code is created to read:

101-5.5. Excessive Size, Weight and Load Permit.
6. REPORTS. For each of the 3, 12-month periods following the effective date of this ordinance [April 11, 2007], the commissioner of public works shall submit written reports to the common council analyzing the amount of revenue generated from the oversize or overweight vehicle permit fees, including a comparison of such revenue to that of 2005 and 2006.
