Title

Substitute resolution approving a lease with 2592 North Downer Avenue, LLC, for a portion of 2574-2590 North Downer Avenue to occupy the leased area with a popcorn wagon, in the 3rd Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This substitute resolution will permit the Department of City Development to execute a lease for City property.

Body

Whereas, The Downer Avenue popcorn wagon is situated on a portion of the City-owned parking lot at 2574-2590 North Downer Avenue; and

 

Whereas, 2592 North Downer Avenue, LLC, recently purchased the popcorn wagon and has offered to lease a portion of the City-owned parking lot so that it can continue operation of the popcorn wagon; and

 

Whereas, The terms and conditions of the lease and a property description are summarized in a Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

 

Whereas, The City Plan Commission authorized lease of a portion of said City-owned parking lot; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that a lease with 2592 North Downer Avenue, LLC, for a portion of the City-owned parking lot at 2574-2590 North Downer Avenue is authorized; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of the Department of City Development or designee is authorized to execute the lease on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the lease proceeds, less a 25 percent fee to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, be deposited in the Parking Fund.
