Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of money from the Braeger Company of Wisconsin.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of $5,000 from the Braeger Company of Wisconsin, to be used to purchase a new dog for the Canine Unit along with any related training expenses.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, The Braeger Company of Wisconsin has offered to donate $5,000 to the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This donation will assist the Milwaukee Police Department in increasing the number of dogs within the Canine Unit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of $5,000 from the Braeger Company of Wisconsin; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
