Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $100,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,340,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $100,000 with the total cost estimated to be $1,340,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
3rd Aldermanic District
E. Kenwood Blvd. - N. Downer Ave. to N. Lake Dr. (SM495060035): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $202,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.
E. North Ave. at N. Oakland Ave. (WT410061061): Water main alteration. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $40,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the spring 2007 construction season.
E. North Ave. - N. Oakland Ave. to N. Prospect Ave. (WT410061062): Joint sealing. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the spring 2007 construction season.
N. Shepard Ave. (Various Locations) - E. Newberry Blvd. to E. Hartford Ave. (SM495060034): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $340,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

W. Mitchell St. - 650 feet m/l east of Miller Park Way to 200 feet m/l east of Miller Park Way (ST211060179): Paving the roadway with concrete. Laying a concrete curb and gutter. Laying concrete sidewalk. Doing all the necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $36,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
12th Aldermanic District
W. Forest Home Ave. - S. 16th St. to S. 18th St. (SM495060027): Relaying combined sewer. The total estimated cost for this project is $198,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
W. Madison St. - S. 6th St. to S. Baraga St. (SM495060020): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $78,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.
S. 7th St. - W. Rogers St. to W. Becher St. (SM495060031): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $8,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $150,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

E. Iron St. - 170 feet m/l west of S. Shore Dr. to S. Shore Dr. (SM495060030): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $68,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the late 2006 construction season.

W. Medford Ave. - W. Oak St. to W. Ash St. (SM495060033): Relaying combined sewer. The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $128,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
